Just over a week ago, Nintendo released its first batch of WiiWare demos, along with Pokemon Rumble and Street Fighter II. We also saw the release of a fan favorite kart racer, along with a boy and his gelatinous friend, some quality WiiWare titles, and plenty of Electroplankton. But the best part of all is that Gamespot confirmed Super Smash Bros. (N64) and Pilotwings (SNES) to be coming to the Wii sometime this holiday season. Overall, it would appear to have been a very bountiful time for anybody who owns a Wii or DSi. As for retail however there is not much to report on, but there were a couple of releases I’m sure your mother or grandmother would love, and a war game that isn’t Modern Warfare 2.

Finally, the hectic kart racing can start all over again with the re-release of Super Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii’s virtual console. The game is up to 2 players and features 8 different characters to choose from. The game’s courses certainly aren’t as elaborate as the games later in the series, but can still offer a challenge to those who are good-impaired. This is a huge selection from the ordinary Nintendo downloadable lineup, and it seems that Nintendo is looking to appeal to the gamers with Smash Bros. and Pilotwings on the way. Super Mario Kart is a fan favorite so here is hoping that Nintendo really starts pumping out the old school games that we played when we were but tikes.

Which game will you hold your points on to for Super Mario Kart, Pilot Wings, or Smash Bros.? What do you think we could do to improve Nintendo Mondays?
